  1. 4.     Operation and safety precautions

4.1   Operation

4.1.1    In STEP mode, press the button one time, it performs one step operation only.

4.1.2    In AUTO mode, it will complete all steps automatically until a full cycle, i.e. pressing cutting off open return next cycle.

4.2   Safety precautions

4.2.1    Material to be cutoff MUST be within the specs. With irregular waste material, pay attention that nothing is pressing against any part of the machine unexpectedly. Remove in time anything off from the platform and inside frames to avoid any damage to the machine. No chilled or brittle steel is allowed for this machine.

4.2.2    After a long service time, necessary to repair or sharpen cutter edge and even replace with new ones. Clearance between blades needs resetting.

4.2.3    It is prohibited to put hands or foot under the pressing board or between top and bottom cutters during operation. Prohibited too to remove things from the machine or do cleaning when the machine is running. Whenever anything should drop off to the machine, stop it immediately. No “ill” machine or over-load operation is permitted.

4.2.4    In case two or more people are working at the machine, a clear division of work with individual responsibility would be important to a safe operation.

4.2.5    Prohibited to handle at will with any parts, pump, valve or gages. Only skilled personnel can be authorized to do adjustment or repair.

 

  1. 5.     General troubles and shooting

Stop the machine when anything abnormal happens during the operation. Shoot the trouble before start the machine again. In the table below listed are some general troubles and causes and remedies to repair.

Practically, troubles would happen with a lot of mixed causes. It is necessary to watch out carefully and give full analysis to the causes before shooting.

 

  1. 6.     Maintenance

It is imperative to a longer service time, higher efficiency and safe operation to operate the machine properly, respect the maintenance regulations and safety requirement. Operators should address to the following besides their familiar with machine’s structure and operation procedures.

6.1   Only well filtered oil can be filled in the tank. And always keep sufficient oil in it. High cleanness of hydraulic system is important to maintain a good machine.

6.2      Check and see before start up if all moving parts and change valves are in their home positions. The oil tank must be cleaned once every half year except for the first time that needs cleaning after use for 3 months. The oil inside can be used for once more after it is filtered again.

6.3     In winter when the oil temperature inside the tank goes down to below 10, measures to be taken to raise its temperature. And in summer when it rises above 70℃, you’d better to stop the machine.

6.4      Lubricate each lube point and fill lube oil in jerk fittings once at least every shift. Dismount the motor bearings for cleaning once every half a year. Remember to add to it Ca-base grease. Also check on the pressure gage every other half a year.

6.5      Non-skilled operator is prohibited to start the machine.

6.6      Operator ought to watch out the system working in regard to the pressure, shearing speed, wear of blades, friction rings and guides. Stop the machine at once whenever something abnormal or bad oil leaking happens. No “ill” machine is permitted to work more.

6.7      No repair or maintenance is allowed during operation. It is strictly prohibited to touch or feel any moving parts.

6.8      Only authorized personnel can adjust valves and/or pressure gage. Should the pressure gage be out of order, fix or replace it right away.

6.9      A regular maintenance regulation needs to be stipulated. It should cover change of seal rings at regular interval (Please see attached list), retightening bolts and screws and pipe fittings, cleaning oil tanks, piping, hydraulic elements and filtering or changing oil.

6.10   Disconnect the mains power supply when coming off work every day for some electric parts would be damaged with power on for a n over-long time.
